### NorWesCon
#### Defining success
- What is the purpose of outreach?
  - Finding people who share our values and interests
  - So they can join and help us out
  - Allow us to pursue more foci, look after different events better, plan farther ahead, etc.
- Performance indicators
  - Number of people on the business calls
  - Number of people pledging financial support
  - Number of people who are active in a working group
    - Active in a working group = Participating in weekly meetings (of some kind) and taking WWWs between them
- Goals for NorWesCon
  - Double our attendance on business calls (3 more ppl)
  - 10 ppl signed up who *claim* they'll be on the calls

#### Experiments
- Free Tee Shirt ... first 20 tee shirts free
- Perplexing signs that will motivate people to talk with us
  - In contrast to entertainment we are interested in concrete action
  - Would you like to help make science fiction real? Communicator/flip phone
- Hovering RC helicopter
- What do you do that is on purpose?
- Showing the video, possibly on a larger screen

#### The engagement funnel
- I know your name; Anyone we talk to gets counted on the post-it
  - I know your mission & values; Gets the trifold and has a conversation about mission and values
    - I like your mission & values; Name & email on a list
      - I'll give a donation in exchange for the book/tee shirt; We write their name on our list of $$
        - I might get involved with your organization; Name & email on a list with checkbox for tryout call
          - I will test drive involvement with your organization; Count them being on a call
            - I will be regularly involved with your organization; Count them on 4 calls

Strategies for moving from one level to another
- From 0 to 1: "I know your name"
  - signs w/ our name on it
  - trifold & tee shirt giveaways
- From 1 to 2: "I know your mission & values"
  - talking w/ other tablers
  - stickers!
  - tee shirt giveaways w/ req that you have to wear it
  - neat stuff going on at our booth to draw ppl in
- From 2 to 3: "I like your mission and values"
  - talk about why ppl are doing what they're currently doing in life
  - ask what part of this they resonate with
  - Get them to talk about their values, then say, "we're kindred."
- From 3 to 4: "I'll give a donation in exchange for the book/tee shirt"
  - Have a statement of what 3-4 projects the money will go toward:
    - Ecovillage promotion at the Earth Day event
    - SolSeed promotion at the next science fiction convention
    - SpaceWiki.org & space industry outreach
    - Incubator for space start-up companies
- From 4 to 5: "I might get involved with your organization"
- From 5 to 6: "I will test drive involvement with your organization"
- From 6 to 7: "I will be regularly involved with your organization"

Index of seriousness:
- We can take money and donations

#### Trifold language
- removed some unneeded phrases

### WWWs
- Shelley will assess cost and amount of work required to set up a PayPal donation system; will set up if <1 hour and <$100
- Ben will complete Trifold and print 150 of them by next weekend
- Brandon will create signs for review at next meeting
- Brandon will get us an Earth Day booth by next weekend
- Ben will get some ideas together for March newsletter by next weekend
