Halloween
- Do we do this at all? We've never had an event for this holiday on the West Coast before
- Let's do something basic this year, something that points in the direction of what we ideally want it to be
- Costumes? (dress up as a colonist of a planet, moon, or asteroid of your choice, perhaps with genetic adaptations to your new home)
- For this year, spacesuits or NASA uniforms
- Make the venue look like a spacecraft or colony
- Haunted space colonies? (but why are they haunted?)
- Cover the giant picture window with a printed poster?
- This year let's do the surface of Mars
- Make the back door look like an airlock somehow?
- Have a "radiation alarm" where we have to go to an emergency shelter in the basement?
- Launch rockets?
- Play games
- Ben suggests Martian Rails, but it takes 3-4 hours
- Brandon is looking at an Indiegogo for a game called Mission to Mars 2049
- Brandon also found board games called Ad Astra (3-5 players) and High Frontier (1-5 players, out of print)
- Ben found Dig Mars (2-4 players, 30 minutes)
- Food that seems kind of astronaut-like
