- Brandon … I had a super-fun day … spent a bunch of time with Sequoia and Ren … got work around the house done … really tired now
- Ben … I am finding it hard to focus on this call because I am in the middle of a graphic design project for class.
- Eric … I had a super fun house-warming party last night, about two dozen people came and they talked a lot … 4 kids, 2 sets of brothers (both sets had a 6 and 3 year old) and they were playing with Patrick’s Thomas Tank engine … people from all different parts of our lives (it was interesting to see them talking to each other) and lots of food because it was a potluck.

Gaia's People update
- Ottawa Meetup got to 50 dedicants, and required the Unlimited package to increase further ($5 more per month)
- It jumped to 58 when Eric upgraded
- The Portland group has only 30
- It's time to actually plan an event in Ottawa/Gatineau just for them!
- Eric is thinking of having a long meditation circle/workshop at Auberge Paradis / Paradise Inn (my new house in Michelle speak)

Schedule for the event
Saturday December 19 2pm PST / but 3 PM EST -because we want to launch rockets before sunset. Program
- ?Rocket launches in Ottawa prior to service?
- Could be at Gary and Pat’s farm and have the service and elevator thing there as well.
- Or we could do it at Auberge Paradis and launch rockets somewhere in Gatineau park? Problem with Gatineau Park is that it is pretty solidly forested. But Eric could build a raft and launch the rockets from the middle of Lac des Fees! Or Eric could just use the open field of Rue Pharand.
- Dinner at Ottawa/Gatineau location also before service
- Viventibus Galaxia service (reading: YouTube videos about the space elevator)
- Divide up roles / teams?
- Build the climber(s)! … expect this will take a few hours
- Set up the ribbon and test the climber(s) … cold-weather gear required (except in Gatineau where we will probably hang the ribbon from the ceiling of the Solarium.)

Strategic Planning
Spend 5 minutes writing and 5 minutes sharing the ideas written. What is our vision for what we are going to do for several hours a week for the next year, rather than the outcome.
Ben
During the next year I want to spend several hours every week creating media for SolSeed, to help us connect with people on a visceral level to share our beliefs and positive vision of the future. Some of this may be tailored to specific target audiences. This can look like:
- writing book chapters on the wiki
- writing blog entries and posting them to our blog and sometimes Humanistic Paganism
- creating graphics in Photoshop or Illustrator and uploading or printing them
- putting together simple videos in Movie Maker, Final Cut Pro, and/or Motion and uploading them to YouTube
At the moment I have more ideas for blog entries than for any other type of media, but will be working on the Gaia Kickstarter video a lot in the near future.
Eric
- During the next year I want to spend several hours every week building a robot. The end goal is the spider robot powered by hydraulics or pneumatics and designed to climb trees but the intermediate robots will have fewer legs and less versatility; they will only climb on specific surfaces or they will walk but not climb etc…
- During the next year I want to spend several hours every week meditating with at least three partners (Ben, Brandon and [To be Recruited]) in order to spread the benefits of partner meditation to more people. Of course, as with Ben and Brandon, [Toby Recruited] will miss days due to other commitments but the intent will be to meditate most days.
- During the next year I want to build the Gaia’s People Group into a functioning group dedicated to the body of all Life. Building this group will involve scheduling fun and on-theme meetups for the group on at least a monthly basis.
Brandon
During the next year I want to spend several hours every week working toward friendly AI. Working toward friendly AI follows an arc of development that begins with a literature survey phase. Doing the literature survey consists of looping over papers:
- Identify a core paper that I want to dissect
- As I read the paper, tear it apart and put the pieces into a public facing wiki
- As I collect the pieces from these various papers I will build a world of AI concepts with various themed tours through that world.
- Select the next paper.
I’m not sure what phase two looks like, but I think it involves some coding and continued surveying.
Evaluation
- Brandon … I love this … it's nice to have the triune brain back together
- Eric … I am also really happy to be back. It feels like breathing for the first time after swimming the length of a pool under water.
- Ben … I’m also happy to have the three of us all working on SolSeed again. And I am looking forward to the space elevator event and to posting the Gaia kickstarter. And to figuring out what we are doing long term.
Closing Blessing
Every significant journey is a series of steps. Essentially, it's the decision to take one more step, one more step, one more step. That decision, over and over again, tenaciously made.
