Kindred 2015

Invitation

You are reading this Invitation because someone wants to see you at Kindred 2015. Kindred is a festival/un-conference of, for, and by folks who embrace science, cherish the Earth, and seek to grow life's exuberant presence on Earth and beyond. If you love science and are into sustainability, intentional community, religious naturalism, seastedding and/or spacesteading, you'll find your tribe well represented at the event. We want to build connections between these communities because they share a set of deep values; the intersection of science and ethics; and hope for a bright future.

We are holding this festival because we want to give you the opportunity to make connections with tribes whose visions inspire you. We will share in Burning-Man-esque spectacles, make art, have fun, do good work … and then go home more connected, more energized and more capable of building a verdant earth and solar system. Bring your friends and join a good party that's growing even better!

To learn more, visit the Main Page, and be sure to add yourself to the participants section if you're coming.

When:

TBD: Somewhere in Oregon or Washington. For example, in no particular order:

Format:

Read AboutOpenSpace and AboutTheFestival. In essence the structure of the event will be freeform, with Open Space sessions scheduled by the participants after they arrive, as well as periods when people are free to wander among the booths of participating groups and talk with their representatives. There will be an opening circle to welcome everyone and explain the “rules” of Open Space, and a closing circle to find out what you got out of the event. To create a festive atmosphere, we'll have games, music, and art projects that anyone can participate in.

Sponsors:

Big props to the people and organizations that have chipped in extra to make this event happen.
