10-year celebration?
- Brandon started the SolSeed Movement by declaring himself to be its first member on February 16, 2005
- Ben will be in SoCal and Brandon will be at Pantheacon, so we can't hold a celebration that day
- Ben isn't really available until the weekend of the 28th; let's tentatively look at that date for a party
- Just make the whole month of February an "anniversary month?"
- Shelley and Eric also joined in February (2005 and 2012, respectively)
- Ideas for the party
- A cake with 10 candles and presents? (e.g. Millennial Gaia statues, see below)
- Watching videos, e.g. Gaia's Heartbeat and Symphony of Science?
- Singing?
Atheopagans, Pantheists, Idols, Churches
- Pantheists prefer to get out in nature rather than going to church
- Brandon wants to build a church/cathedral someday; Ben observes that it could have a really nice view of some natural environment through really big windows
- Paul Krafel is another who is sympathetic to the pantheist viewpoint of getting out and “being in nature” (seeing nature)
- Ted's kids are going to an outdoor-only school
- Ben: another instance of shiny vs. green … lets use synthesis to build our temple (indoor shiny, outdoor green)
- The Millennial Gaia statue
- Brandon is thinking about getting one on Amazon (7 inch tall), and would kind of like to have ones for the Sun and some children of Gaia too (O’Neil Cylinder, Hollowed Asteroid, Selene and Ares)
- Ben: Eric would certainly support this, even though we know the personification is just a metaphor
- Brandon: I think my kids would connect with it really well
