- The Saumurs have the whole previous week available
- The Sanders get back from the redwoods on Tuesday the 4th
Check-in (gratinews)
- Eric … I read Ishmael and it's really cool
- Brandon … I'm really enjoying this 10-year anniversary and the opportunity to reflect on SolSeed and think about the next 10 years … and I'm surprised how much we've done (I sometimes feel like we haven't really done much)
- Ben … I’m a little bit stressed with trying to catch up with things, but I’m glad I went on that trip and I saw a cool talk last night that is for Long Now members. Today I discovered an exploration of low carbon futures in comic form.
WW(W)s from last time
Organize the WWWs by person and then due date. We’ll start checking in on topical community protocol and meditation for each mini-period between workbees. Holacracy founder Brian Robertson says these are bad: http://holacracy.org/blog/the-insanity-of-the-what-by-when

Weekly Events Logistics
Weekend Service rotation: Eric, Shelley, Brandon, Ben
- February 28 Service: 9:00 AM PDT, 12:00 EST (Shelley)
- February 26 Work-Bee: 5:30 PM PST, 20:30 EST
Midweek

Gaia Wiki
Ben: We have this metric new pages that were added and I am not certain that is what is important but I have a suggestion for deciding what to add. A good way to get a list of options to choose from is: http://gaia.wiki/Special:MostLinkedPages
Brandon: I think we should change the metric from new articles to active users: http://gaia.wiki/Special:ActiveUsers
Brandon: I think we should set up a Facebook page and a Twitter account for Gaia Wiki
- Ben: Do we have the energy to manage them?
- Brandon: It doesn't matter, we should still get them, and figure out what to do with them later.
- Brandon: see http://wiki.wiki/Best_Practices
10-year celebration on February 28
Brandon: Shelley and I suggest renting a canoe and paddling around Ross Island
- We'd find a deserted beach and have a campfire with 10 marshmallows, 10 hot dogs, etc
- 11am-5pm … rent a canoe from http://aldercreek.com/about-us/locations/boathouse-store/
Ben: I'm thinking about doing parts of this: http://www.localfutures.org/the-economics-of-happiness/portland-oregon-event-program/
- But it costs over $250 and is likely to happen again next year, and we only ever have one 10-year anniversary
Brandon: Ben, I'm counting on you to get here by 9 for the service
- Ben: Another option is that I could stay the night on Friday at your place … I'll talk with my parents but I'll probably just do that
(Eric added a page to Gaia.wiki while you guys were talking. Yay!)
Spring Equinox
March 20 (Friday), 3:45 PM PDT / 18:45 EDT
- Ben: Okay to celebrate it on Saturday instead?
- Brandon: Definitely okay with me … Friday is a workday for both Shelley and me
- Eric: Okay, I'll change mine to the 21st as well
Eric's ritual: (Vegetarian) Sushi and storytelling
- We'd probably do the storytelling at 19:00 EDT / 4:00 PM PDT, we'd eat before in Ottawa, you'd eat after in Portland
- Participants go under a black sheet one at a time, you recite something, they come out
- We could do that in the afternoon before the storytelling
Brandon: Pagans call it Ostara … rebirth ritual
Summer Solstice / Mid Summer Kindred
Brandon: We'd like to do a small ritual for Summer Solstice and a big celebration at midsummer
- Invite a lot of people for midsummer who could be co-conveners for a Kindred festival
- Lammas is the pagan name for the festival
- Ben: where do you see that? Wikipedia says "Lughnasadh" … oh wait, that's the Gaelic one and the English one is Lammas
To Invite (brainstorming):
- John and Ruth Halstead
- Jon and Heather Cleland-Host
- Keith from LUF
- Mark Green from Atheopaganism
- Paul Krafel
- Someone from the World Pantheism Network
- Michael Dowd/Connie Barlow (who are currently very focused on things related to the climate crisis)
- Dr. Mautner
- Ursula Goodenough
- Steven Wolfe
- Someone from permanent.com
- Someone from the Lifeboat Foundation
- Daniel Quinn
- Urban Scout (rewilding portland)
- Trackers Earth (PDX folks)
- The City Repair guy
- Mathew Lippincott
- Molly Danielson
- Gus
- Hank
- Alexander Bard and Hampus Lindblad from the Syntheist movement
Timing:
- August 7-10 … pick 2.5 days from that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lammas
It's Ben's turn to host?
- Okay, we'll still have it in Portland and Shelley will be the host
Rebranding tickler
- Consider an experiment with renaming to something with the word Gaia in it
- Consider getting rid of "The Destiny" as our name for the SolSeed vision
Evaluation
- Brandon … love you guys, so glad to be back in touch … fun … thank you
- Eric … I am also so glad to have a full meeting for the first time in a long time and I’m so excited about coming to Portland
- Ben … I’m also excited about coming to Portland next weekend … I’m not going to manage to extend my enthusiasm to August just yet … keepin’ it simple for now
