### Finances
- Brandon doesn't like our accounting system very much.
- There's no way to tease out what each of us spent and compare it to what we contributed.
- Brandon proposes a website where we can each track what we spend with receipts.
- Reimbursal
- If it's more than they contributed that month, then people who spent less than they contributed would reimburse them
- If no one spent less than they contributed…
- Approval
- We might need to have an organization with rules about how money can be spent.
- Fiscal Responsibility
- Brandon feels like we’re not very fiscally responsible and feeling the pain
- He's almost not sure he wants to keep donating, given our outcomes for the money spent
- He would never donate so much to a third party that is so slap-dash with its accounting and attention to outcomes
- Ben: Goal: Predict how much things will cost and scale back plans if they're too costly?
- Brandon: We need what we spend to create value and be intentionally aimed at that
- Traveling to see each other is expensive in dollars but creates some amount of value
### Business call scheduling
- Ben would like to be able to leave his apartment shortly after 5:30pm every other Sunday to go to ZEGG Forum at Star House, and wants to know whether people can move the business meeting earlier in the afternoon?
- Brandon considers whether we can move it to a different day, and do it at a time when we have energy; he doesn't have much gumption on weekday evenings
- Ben doesn't have much in the mornings
- Brandon proposes getting rid of Business Meetings, and only meeting on Thursdays to work on blog entries for each other's projects
- Ben amends to having one Business Meeting per month (not on a ZEGG Forum day) so that we can track our finances
- Brandon suggests Business Meetings could be more businessy, focused around organizational details, not strategy/vision or event planning
- Then when we want to plan events, we'd have to have specially scheduled meetings to plan them or just use email
- Strategy shifts could be mainly discussed at events (our unconferences have served the purpose of a strategy course correction mechanism)
- Or we could stay more flexible
### Evaluation
- Ben … I’m glad we’re being diligent and hope that we keep it up.
- Brandon … I'm still at an inflection point, and I am curious what changes will happen around that.
### Closing Blessing
Comfortable people rarely change worlds, but also, people in the grip of a battle to provide for themselves rarely change worlds. We must find ways to use our privilege to the advantage of the changes we seek, and where necessary, introduce discomfort to remind us that the world we have is not the world we want.
