### Check In
- Ben … I’m feeling a little depressed because I couldn’t find my handwritten notes from Bioneers National. They might be in this giant pile of papers … which I’ll probably have to pack up and move in the next few months because otherwise my rent goes up by $240.
- Brandon … I'm sick, and having a bit of a hard time breathing.
### Opening Blessing
We come here tonight, busy, sick, worried, excited, passionate. A mix, really. May we find meaning and purpose in our shared work. May we persevere. --Blessed Be

### Shaping Change
- Conference ends at noon Sunday; Brandon's flight is at 3 while Ben's and John's are closer to 6
- No obvious fee for attending
- Brandon and Ben just filled out the pre-registration forms
- Ben could make a SolSeed flyer
- Brandon could bring some copies of *Parable of the Sower* with a sticker inside talking about SolSeed and Earthseed
#### Email About Materials
Hi Shapers,
Ben and Brandon were discussing whether or not to bring any kind of written materials to the Shaping Change Conference. We have a SolSeed flyer that we could edit and print. We also have quite a few Parable of the Sower books that we can bring along and hand out. Brandon can paste a printed sticker inside each one talking about our SolSeed and Earthseed groups. We’ve handed out both types of materials at science fiction and space conventions before and never gotten much traction. This may be a more sympathetic audience? Or … it might be too much and alienate the people we’d like to connect with.
What think ye all? Any suggestions for language about Earthseed that we could include?
Shaper Brandon and Shaper Ben
### Summer Solstice
- Rattlesnake lake
- Advantages
- Close to where Ben lives (about an hour’s drive from Ben’s place).
- Disadvantages
- Crowded.
- Although pretty, not as pretty as the other three.
- Lake Wenatchee
- Advantages
- Slightly less crowded
- Disadvantages
- 2 hour’s drive
- Glacier fed (cold for swimming)
- Deception Pass
- Advantages
- Ben’s been there
- Disadvantages
- Not sure where we could do Yay Life Tri
- Moran State Park (Ben's favorite)
- Advantages
- Cool ferry ride in the middle of the four hours: 1.45 drive, 1.15 ferry, 2 hr drive
- Multiple lakes
- Tower to see lots of other islands
- Potential for Whale Watching
- Disadvantages
- Takes 4 hours to get there from Ben’s place
- Ben could meet the Sanders in Shoreline, north of Seattle, to shorten the drive
### Creed Revisions
- Unaddressed concepts and topics that might merit some sort of treatment
- Species extinctions and adaptive radiations, explicitly talking to diversity and complexity
- The new story
- The Singularity (e.g., God is Change?)
- Ecovillages
- Consumption vs. Creation
- Life supporting life in space
- Otherizing vs. seeing all life as your "in group" … non-dualistic vs. dualistic
- Deep-Time Thinking
- Women, Children, and other un-attracted-to-SolSeed people
### Evaluation
- Brandon … I am struggling to integrate all the things happening in my life and in my mind. In particular, things like the Simulation Hypothesis and the Singularity. I feel that the way forward for me requires some explicit treatment of these topics, even if it just means to process them and set them aside.
- Ben … I wanted to say and didn’t get a chance that the reason for those billboards we talk about in your last episode is that “most people think that Robots suck at almost everything and don’t think about it too hard. E.g., Robot phone trees.” As for call, I really liked getting together and making progress on the events. We should do this more often ;-)
### Blessing
We came here tonight with a mix of feelings, many of them uncomfortable and dark. And we leave re-energized by our shared work and shared purpose. May we continue to benefit each other this way through regular meetings. -- Blessed Be
