- Brandon … we have Christmas trees … I've been reading Aurora and finding it pretty depressing/defeatist
- Ben … had a nice time in Portland (and a brief trip to Vancouver today … I'll be there again in about 15 minutes on this train)
- Eric … I got so many things done today that if I listed them it would take the whole meeting … I'm really happy about that … I think the house is just about ready for the family of Syrian refugees sponsored by a multifaith coalition, who need a place to stay for a few months … I'll be meeting with the leaders of that group to nail down the details

Schedule for the event
Saturday December 19 2pm PST / but 3 PM EST -because we want to launch rockets before sunset. Program
- ?Rocket launches in Ottawa prior to service?
- Could be at Gary and Pat’s farm and have the service and elevator thing there as well.
- Or we could do it at Auberge Paradis and launch rockets somewhere in Gatineau park? Problem with Gatineau Park is that it is pretty solidly forested. But Eric could build a raft and launch the rockets from the middle of Lac des Fees!
- Eric could just use the open field of Rue Pharand. He is most attracted to this option, seeing as it doesn’t involve building a raft but allows the event to occur at Auberge Paradis.
- Dinner at Ottawa/Gatineau location also before service
- YouTube videos about the space elevator
- Divide up roles / teams?
- Build the climber(s)! … expect this will take a few hours
- Could we keep connected via Skype while we do this?
- Set up the ribbon and test the climber(s) … cold-weather gear required (except in Gatineau where we will probably hang the ribbon from the ceiling of the Solarium.)
- Again, maybe this could be shared between the sites via Skype
- Dinner at Redmond location: Flying Saucer Pizza
- Viventibus Galaxia service, probably at 8 or 8:30 PM PST / 23:00 or 23:30 EST
- Ben wants to do this at the end of the event instead (it's about the far future beyond the Space Elevator, and it works better when it's dark!), plus it would be a Saturday night so Eric could stay up past his usual bedtime!
Questions
- Should Brandon bring his telescope? Is there any chance or location for stargazing close to Ben’s place?
- Ben: It wouldn't be very dark skies, but if it's clear enough, we could try it … probably make the decision based on a weather forecast just before you depart from Portland
- Eric: Wish we had kept my parent’s telescope. We could have brought it to Champlain Lookout
- Brandon: Should my guys bring things for the cabin of the space elevator car? Or are they going to use Ben’s stuff?
- Ben: Ask them what they want to do … Brandon: Sounds good

Any change to the Gaia Kickstarter WWWs?
- Ben: I didn't have time to film the statue this past week due to prep for my Thanksgiving trip
- Eric : I didn’t have time to read the kickstarter rules due to prepping this house
- Brandon: I still have my same WWWs … was up against a deadline at work, should now have a little more time to finish my WWWs

Strategic Planning
- Brandon: Did you find your writing from last week affecting what you did during the intervening week?
- Eric: I ordered more parts for my robot!
- Ben: I talked about it during a meditation call with Eric, and mentioned making more images of bright futures at the climate rally today
- Brandon: I spent a couple hours at least (probably 4) on my AI and Machine Learning survey
- Ben: I finally listened to all the negative-numbered "Friendly AI" podcasts! … Brandon: ha!
- Eric: I spent quite a bit of time dreaming about Gaia’s People. I visioned having an event in the Solarium at Auberge Paradis.
- Eric: I missed meditating with Brandon but assumed that Birthdays and Thanksgiving were interfering
- Brandon: I need to go join my family (and help them get to bed) … otherwise I’d love to do an exercise where we identify several entities that we admire and would like to model our SolSeed activities after
- Eric: I just got a text from Michelle. She needs to talk to me about something. Fraid I should probably go too.

Evaluation
- Brandon … fun to type simultaneously … feels kind of futuristic … I do like to hear your voices as well :-)
- Ben … it's interesting that typing seems futuristic when it's the most primitive tech available for doing this meeting .... well, maybe a 3-way phone call would be a bit more primitive
- Eric … Glad we didn’t go so futuristic that we were using punch cards to communicate with each other then!
Closing Blessing
We came together to form a circle of thought. As with real raw thought it was chaotic and confusing. As with truly creative thought it was exciting and fun. We hope that we have taken another small step toward our highest aspirations. We hope that we have formed a warm community. And we hope that we have basked in the light of some truths.
