* Eric … I am frazzled by the sort of good anxiety I’m feeling about all of this real estate dealing.
* Ben … I just re-read ''Accelerando'' and am now starting to re-read the Xenogenesis trilogy. They are both about colossal existential changes for humanity. I’m still nervous about the comparatively minor change where I am moving to a partially open office layout.
* Brandon … I spent some time on the EarthSeed Facebook group and I feel enthusiasm for what they are doing and for John and Tony.

== How close with Earthseed? ==
* John and Tony seem willing to combine efforts, with a few conditions attached
** Build it under the brand Earthseed (it seems to successfully attract people)
** John’s Conditions
*** Unapologetically a religion
*** Embrace theistic language (e.g., “God is Change”)
**** Possibly the biggest stumbling block for Ben, and to a lesser extent Brandon
**** Brandon thinks he can embrace it because the Gaia statue has shown the power of strong archetypes and personifications
** Tony's Conditions: unknown (he says "let's not reinvent the wheel")

** Making images of God is Change (flying in the face of Shaper 1)
** In general, how do we update the text we're getting from these novels?

* Brandon is willing to start over almost from the ground up in terms of the philosophy

* Brandon: If we move more toward Earthseed, we could maybe get some people like Kevin James Daniels back involved

* Brandon suggests we present a charter for a real-world Earthseed to present here, and try to get explicit permission to develop it from Octavia Butler's estate, which might have oversight privileges, get licensing fees, or something

* Likely difficult for the Sanders and Eric
** Sanders probably couldn't do both this and a visit to Gatineau
** Eric: A trip to Ottawa/Gatineau area this time next year might be better … the house will be better established, hopefully there will be a start on developing the forest land, and Eric will have some vacation time available … and maybe we could bring more people next year too!
* Ben: There will be some people who like the idea of making Earthseed real, but others who think we're crazy
* Eric: Next year on the Solstice will be Octavia Butler's virtual 70th birthday … great opportunity for an event
** Brandon: But we'd probably have to organize the event ourselves
