All Week * Eric … name the season and get the name to Ben … by tonight == Weekly Events Logistics == Service rotation: Eric, Shelley, Brandon, Ben * May 10 Service: 9:00 am PDT (12:00 EDT) (Ben)(First week of the fourth liturgical season) * May 11 Work-Bee: 1:30 pm PDT (16:30 EDT) (Sanders may have difficulty with workbee … Shelley’s BDay and Mother’s Day) == Gaia’s Heartbeat and Orientation Emails == * 3 new signups in the last week, but they might be spammers ** They did get the intro email and confirm their signups ** We’ve already sent 3 of the orientation emails to one of the new people * We could ask kindred groups with Facebook pages to repost the video * How ready do we need to be before advertising more widely? ** Ben: We should speed up preparation of emails and work more on Holacracy == Summer Solstice/Kindred 2015 == * Maryhill-area camping/lodging is completely booked up * Brandon suggests a scouting expedition for Kindred 2015 venues ** Two broad regions *** East: Windward, Camp Trackers (could also stop by Maryhill) *** South: Silver Falls, Camp Westwind, Cape Lookout (could camp there) *** Also consider Cedar Ridge, which is an hour northwest of Portland ** How many days? How many hours in the car per day? ** Eric isn’t eager to do a whirlwind tour, which leads to more stress and less bonding * Retreat ** Cape Lookout ** Mt. Hood (of interest to the Saumurs since they live on the flat side of the continent) * Eric bought plane tickets for himself and Patrick, arriving late on June 18th leaving on the 26th at ~5PM == Fourth Season == The fourth [[Liturgical Season]] runs from mid-spring to the summer solstice and covers the diversification of Life on land. The four advances are legs, amniotic eggs, wings, and flowering things. Here is [[Eric]]'s draft of the opening ceremony for the [[Weekly Service Calls]] during this season: :A quiet forest... still ... a quiet forest... :And then ... <gasp> ... Noisy animals! :Chirping Crickets, Roaring Dinosaurs, Calling Birds, Buzzing Bees. :Forests grow. :In the lush green forests, diverse species are born. :And for every species ... there is a story! :Legs :Limbs to cross dry land, climb trees and explore the ever spreading forests :Powerful legs to support the weight of the mighty dinosaurs! :Insects, and then reptiles, began laying eggs on land :Air Breathing eggs :Allowing Birth far from water :Opening the heartland of continents to exploring animals! :Then came wings! :Lifting insects, pterosaurs, birds and bats into the air, :To escape predators, and strike prey from above :To soar high, one step from space! :Next came the flowers, sharers of food. :Both the nectar of bees, :And the fruit from which :early primates got their energy. :Legs, Land Eggs, Wings and Flowering Things :From few forms... Many forms! ==Evaluation== *Ben... It feels like we are pushing ourselves really hard in terms of needing to get a bunch of stuff done really fast, which is unusual for us. Which is kind of stressful. *Eric ... I feel like my whole life is full of stuff that needs to get done really fast, and I’m having trouble scheduling things so they don’t overlap. But I still feel good about actually making things happen … I had so many things on my plate that I was failing at all of them, and now I’m succeeding at some.
