Seed 2009 is a retreat and openspace event for members and friends of the [[SolSeed Movement]]. {{TOCright}} == Logistics == Tentatively gather the evening of Dec 31, and then Jan 1-3 (ending early afternoon on the 3rd), 2009 in Portland, Oregon {{:Seed 2009/Invitation}} == Lodging == Here are some ideas for lodging if we want to go for Mt. Hood. I like [http://www.mthoodrent.com/proppages/falconscrest.html Falcon Crest] (sleeps 24) or |[http://littletraillodge.com/ '''Little Trail Lodge'''] (sleeps 30) best. These notes were created for a different event in March 2008, but may be useful here. --[[User:ShelleySchoepflinSanders|ShelleySchoepflinSanders]] 23:50, 5 August 2008 (PDT) {| style= border="1" cellpadding="4" |- !width="40" |Place !width="80" |Meals and Meeting Space? !width="40" |Price !width="30" |Amenities |- |[http://www.mthoodrent.com '''All Seasons Property Management'''] 622-1142
Carol is manager. Two night stay has 10% discount for a group. * $209/night for chalet for 2, each add'l guest is $20 per person per night. * Units sleep a max of 10, but that's using the sofa sleeper. Most sleep comfortably 4-6 people. All 1200 - 1800 sq feet. * 2 BR w/ queen/king plus extra room with bunks * 2.5 baths, washer, dryer, kitchen. * Would need a total of about 7 units with about 6 people per unit. $290 per 6 people, or $50/night. $210 x 7 is $1470, but then add 7% tax and $15 reservation fee. * Rent the club house -- could waive the extra guest fee. Large sitting room, fireplace, tables and chairs. Kitchenette with bar. Connected to outdoor swimming pool, hot tub. Shannon will talk to Rob -- maybe will meet in the middle $200. Plus $100 cleaning of clubhouse -- unless caterer does the cleaning. We initially reserved March 15, 11 am to 4 pm. They could set up banquet tables. The other group cancelled so we can have the house until 11 pm. * Right on main loop road. * Discounted lift tickets to SKiBowl $29 for all day. or $22 for night ticket. * Mt Hood Adventure: snowshoe rental or guided tours * Tube hill at Ski Bowl open Sat 10-6. Rent the tubes there. * Buildings A, B, and C would be good to look at. #15 in C. Building K has 4 units: 37 and 38 are nice. #35 not as pretty but has 2 bunks as well as queen in the guest room. * Rock Skaller -- bar, large pizzas * I booked 7 chalet's -- need to look at whether we need any more and then book another $238.63 per chalet $1670.41 including tax. My folks stayed there once and it is very remote -- no bars or restaurants and >40 min past Gov't Camp in snow. Loved Falcon Crest. Maybe that plus Little Trail? Collins would be OK but it's at SkiBowl and looks expensive and has no food. Little Trail Lodge is likely most affordable -- but we'd need to convince them to let us stay just one night and also pay for a caterer!
