The word SolSeed means "the body of all life on Earth."
We believe that:
* All life is precious.
* The Destiny of SolSeed is to take root amongst the stars.
What we're about:
* Healing, sustaining, and nurturing life on Earth.
* Becoming a society of "starfarers," people with the values and consciousness needed to fulfill the Destiny.
* Fulfilling the Destiny: Helping life spread out from Earth to plant the seeds of new living worlds throughout the Galaxy.
Where we come from:
* Partly inspired by the fictional Earthseed religion in Octavia Butler's two Parable novels.
* Established five years ago as a wiki site, now hosted at solseed.org.
* Attracted members and friends in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Illinois, Virginia, and New York.
* Held three major in-person gatherings in Oregon in 2009.
