Redefining SolSeed
Two friends of SolSeed: SolSeed is a good name, and it should be a movement rather than a church … the world has enough churches
Brandon is considering having both a movement and a church (the movement could still be called SolSeed)
Ben observes that we need more opinions from others
Eric points out that many people are uncomfortable with the idea of joining a religion, but would join a movement
Ben agrees, pointing out space enthusiasts generally fit this description
Eric: also atheists and maybe environmentalists
Ben: but if we also had an associated religion, would people leave the movement as soon as they found that out?
Brandon suggests we should consider having a plurality of religions (including none) that are consistent with the values and goals of SolSeed. They use different language and practices to get at the same thing.
Brandon: Having, for example, some strong Christian rhetoric that gets at the ideas of SolSeed
Eric: I spent some time trying to describe SolSeed in a way that would specifically inspire Liberal Christians. But I think an actual Christian has to write that.
