  • Eric … I'm feeling annoyed and guilty about missing service yesterday … on the plus side, I got a bunch of stuff done and did 123 points of damage to the boss on Habitica
  • Ben … I got lots of cuddling yesterday and then less than 6 hours of sleep last night. I am feeling like SolSeed is almost like a ghost town. It is going to be hard to pretend in the newsletter that anything interesting is happening. But that is just the sort of thing I say when I'm being a non-morning person.

Opening Blessing

We live our lives, and in living them, we sometimes forget that it is living that we celebrate in SolSeed. Let us renew our connection to the living world by remembering that every act of living is a praising of Gaia. --Blessed Be

Weekly Events Logistics

Service rotation: Eric, Shawn, Ben
  • November 3rd Service: 10 AM PST / 13:00 EST … Ben
  • November 4th Business Call: 9:45 AM PST / 12:45 EST, on Skype

Seasonal celebrations

Samhain: Tuesday 11/6 at 4:08 PM PST / 19:08 EST
Solstice: Friday 12/21 at 2:23 PM PST / 17:23 EST (Eric will need to leave work early)
  • Eric: I'm spending so much energy on the houses, which to me is my SolSeed work, that I don't want planning for the celebrations to take away from that
    • Let's just do a regular service at those times but with the two openings one after the other.
  • Ben: I'm out of methanol … maybe Shawn has some for me?

  • Topics
    • Resilient Communities mini-unconference
    • The Schism
    • Habitica
    • Something from the Sanders?
  • Tone
    • Eric: Be honest about scaling back, focusing on living our commitment to Gaia
      • Eric: Getting an electric vehicle and setting up charging stations
      • Ben: I haven't done anything for Gaia lately other than making an online version of an anti-nuclear-weapons newspaper … the community I moved into isn't at all sustainable

What shall we do together?

  • Eric: I still like the idea of once-a-year in-person get-togethers
    • Summer is best for Buckleberry
    • Or we could do it in Seattle for the first time … March would be nice for me to travel
      • Sequoia and Ren may still want to join us for sushi!
  • Other things Eric may or may not have energy for
    • Foundation
    • Theology (Creed and Service revisions)
    • Recruitment
    • Combined activities with Reform Pagans (like the Equinox event above!)
    • Planning the Buckleberry hobbit-hole project (Eric doesn't have the money to pursue it right now)
      • Finish the drawings and get a building permit
        • Ben: Could I learn to do architectural drawings and help you with them?
      • Look into other building sites to make it easier to dome over
      • Make cool graphics and start a Kickstarter?

Closing Blessing

We live our lives far apart; we seek shared work and experiences that bring us closer together. May we continue to be close in this way, may we bring life together. --Blessed Be

  • Ben: The idea that you might pull away the way Brandon did, terrifies me. I would feel like I could no longer talk to anyone who shares my vision. I am glad that we are looking for ways to stay connected.
  • Eric: I'm glad we had this meeting where we could honestly talk about where SolSeed Gaia Vision is, and move on from the Schism.
