Yay Life Tri
The Yay Life Tri is a participatory ritual that was first performed in June 2012. It takes the form of a triathlon with the events arranged in the following order:
- Swim: This acts as a metaphor for the first hundred million years or so of complex life in the oceans.
- Walk: This acts as a metaphor for the several hundred million years of complex life walking on land.
- Bicycle: This acts as a metaphor for the development of advanced techology by humans and the potential future that this leads to for complex life.
Some years the Bicycle part has been replaced by canoes or kayaks.
