Outreach

  • Shelley: We need a nicer SolSeed.org main page
  • Spend time working on Wikipedia? (Earthseed article, 100yss, etc)
  • Meetups
  • Facebook
    • We have 57 members of our group, but we're not doing anything with it
    • Brandon thinks this is the most important place
  • Twitter
    • A lot like cultivating a topical community ... Brandon will do this with the #100yss tag and also the Centauri Dreams blog

SolSeed Direction

  • Brandon: Call ourselves a "pseudo-religion"?
    • Ben: I find it kind of icky, and don't think it's that attractive to people who don't like religion
    • Okay, we'll call it "an alternative to traditional religion" that has a "mainstream scientific worldview"

Evaluation

  • Shelley ... spread too thin ... proposal for next time: develop a set of criteria by which we evaluate opportunities before we embark upon them ... learn from our process what works and doesn't work ... pragmatic, like to see us making progress (frustrated)
  • Brandon ... I echo everything Shelley said
  • Ben ... remind ourselves that we're doing pretty well with this quarter's one page plan goals
