Check In

  • Eric … I'm grateful that I did yoga today … I love yoga … and I'm grateful that Michelle did it with me
  • Ben … I’m grateful that I am almost done with this week’s illustration assignment but I am a little concerned that I don’t feel very enthusiastic about the idea of doing this more often or having my wages depend on it.
  • Brandon … I'm feeling kinda sick … I notice that I'm normally healthy, and am grateful for that

Opening Blessing

We come here this evening to get moving, to be in action, to lower the activation energy required to be who we aspire to be. May our work together inspire, nurture, and bring more life. In Gaia's name --Blessed Be

Weekly Events Logistics

Midweek

  • June 11 Work-Bee: 6:30 PM PST, 21:30 EST

Weekend

Service rotation: Eric, Shelley, Brandon, Ben
  • June 13 Service: 8:30 AM PDT, 11:30 EDT (Eric) … (Eric needs it to be early due to a planned tour of the Lanark Ecovillage)
  • June 14 Business Call: 1:00 PM PST (Eric out because his availability is narrow and doesn't line up with Brandon's around his Hood-to-Coast meeting)

Summer Solstice

  • Maryhill vs. Rooster Rock
    • Rooster Rock is close and has astronomers but stars probably not as good, and no camping
    • Maryhill is farther but has better stars and a Stonehenge replica, and camping
      • We could also go to the nearby Goldendale Observatory

Shiny Green Tribal Convergence

Brandon: John Halstead has worked his trip around so he could be here, but his trip is so packed that he may not want to break off the time for our full event

  • He doesn't know yet that we're considering shortening our event

Eric: When I think about this event, I think mainly about seeing you guys … I don't really care as much what we're going to do

  • We can have ideas beforehand like we did with the model greenhouses at Sol 2014

Activity ideas

  • Map to secret shrines around the Arboretum
  • Volunteer work bee, if available
  • Michelle's dance performance
  • Get bikes and tool around Portland?
  • Canning duck weed
  • Eric: Water ceremony from Sol 2014
  • YayLifeTri (but there's no good place to do the swimming section)
  • The 4T trail (4 hours, $5/person)
  • Science on a Hemisphere
  • Eric: Making Permaculture seed bombs
    • Brandon: "Seed balls" so it doesn't sound too anarchistic
  • Brandon: Envisioning the Seed Village … maybe as a newly broader concept that would embrace more people

Other groups' creative online actions

Closing Blessing (after Ben and Eric's meditation)

We came here this evening to get moving, to be in action, or at least to discuss being in action, to lower the activation energy required to be who we aspire to be. May our continuing work beyond this call, inspire, nurture, and bring more life. In Gaia's name --Blessed Be
