A movement is a BeautyMovement if it embraces all the wondrous experiences our universe has to offer to sentient beings such as ourselves. A worrisomely large number of religions avoid this way of thought, claiming instead that we should wait to experience transcendent beauty in an unknowable Heaven.
- "Beauty is truth, truth beauty,--that is all
- Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
- -"Ode on a Grecian Urn" by John Keats
Well, this famous statement is a little over-the-top, but beauty is nevertheless more important than some might suppose. Surface appearances can connect to and motivate deeper truths and purposes. A deep sense of the beauty of life and of the immense cosmos in which we find ourselves is a main reason why humans have become what we are today: beings who revel in exploration, in learning and understanding all that we can about our world while never losing our core *sense of wonder* at the grandeur of Creation. It will also serve as one of the major forces that drives us to pursue TheDestiny: we want to learn what's out there, and we want to learn it firsthand. Robotic explorers are enough for now, but not for long.
